The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side by Agatha Christie

In this ninth Miss Marple mystery, a murder happens again in St. Mary Mead. A movie star has bought a home in the quiet village, and has a party at her house and invites many of the locals as a fundraiser for a local charity, and a local woman is poisoned while talking to the movie star at this party. The police are obviously called in, and Miss Marple is somehow also invited in to help. I think it's always interesting how in many of these Miss Marple mysteries, all of the investigation and interviewing is done by the police through official channels, but Miss Marple generally learns about their discoveries in some way and is able to piece together what they've learned and come up with a theory to solve the puzzle--and she's usually right. She's just a theoretical detective; she doesn't do much of the sleuthing, just the solving.

I enjoyed this mystery and didn't really suspect what was going on. Christie does a good job of covering her tracks, and of throwing in a few different issues to happen at the same time and confuse or distract you from what's really happening. Definitely a fun listen.
